Rajnath Singh To Celebrate Dussehra With Troops In Sikkim, Perform Shastra Puja
To boost the morale of the Indian troops, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will be visiting the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Sikkim on the occasion of Dussehra (October 24) and perform ‘Shastra Puja’ (worship of arms).
The defence minister Rajnath singh is scheduled to visit the LAC in Sikkim on October 23-24 and return after doing ‘Shastra Puja’ there near the border with China, sources in the defence ministry told India Today.
Rajnath’s visit comes at a time when India and China have been locked in a fierce showdown over border standoff.
The defence ministry can also visit the forward location where India has deployed a large number of men and tanks to prevent any possible attempts of chinese infiltration.
India and China are engaged in a standoff since April- May this year starting from Ladakh to Arunachal Pradesh in Northeastern region. India has deployed nearly 60,000 soldiers to Chinese Army moved troops to transgress into Indian area near Pangong Tso lake and other adjoining locations.
During his stay there, the he would be launching a number of strategic bridges which have been built there.
In 2019, Rajnath Singh had performed the ‘Shastra Puja’ to welcome the Rafale fighter jets which India purchased from France. Rajnath Singh has been performing the religious rituals for the last several years.
