AGNI-I

The Agni-1 is a short-range, road/rail-mobile, solid propellant ballistic missile. Falling between short-range and medium-range missile it fills the gap between AGNI-2 and India’s Prithvi Missile.

Classifying it is an intermediate-range missile. News reports and officials refer to missiles as an ICMB suggesting an extended range.

BRAHMOS

DHANUSH

Dhanush Missile is a short-range , ship based ballistic missile probably with a liquid propellant base. That is the naval version of India’s Dhanush missile.

NIRBHAY

The Nirbhay is India’s first indigenously produced cruise missile. The missile is similar in appearance to the US Tomahawk and the Russian SS-N-27 with it’s the cylindrical fuselage. So far it’s unclear whether the missile will be ground, sea, or air-launched but its test suggests at least a ground-launched version. Additionally, the DRDO is working on a road-mobile truck platform.

SAGARIKA/SHAURYA

The k-15 Sagarika is an indian submarine launched ballistic missile (SLBM) with a range of approximately 700km.

Early testing of shaurya happened on land with many suggesting it was the land-based version of Sagarika after tests in 2008 and 2011. The missile underwent its first undersea launch in march 2014 with an expanded range of 300km.

  1. If I am not wrong then Brahmos is only manufactured in India and only used by India. Brahmos Aerospace manufactures them. One of my close friends works there as a researcher. And it’s based upon P800 onik. Russia neither uses nor manufactures Brahmos

    1. I have written that Russia and India have jointly made this missile I have not written that it is used by Russia there is a difference.

  2. Hey buddy, I wasn’t criticizing you, I was just adding a point. Brahmos aerospace is the company which offered highest of 17 lpa ctc package in NIT Durgapur mechanical last year. My close friend got that package. He is currently working in manufacturing plant which is only one of its kind.
