Indian Air Force Set to Join Multinational Exercise INIOCHOS-25

The Indian Air Force (IAF) is gearing up to participate in Exercise INIOCHOS-25, a highly regarded multinational air exercise hosted by the Hellenic Air Force. Scheduled to take place from March 31 to April 11, 2025, at Andravida Air Base in Greece, the event will see the IAF deploy its formidable Su-30 MKI fighters alongside combat enabler aircraft, including the IL-78 mid-air refuelers and C-17 transport planes.
Exercise INIOCHOS, a biennial event, is a key platform for air forces worldwide to sharpen their tactical skills, exchange operational expertise, and foster stronger military relationships. This year’s iteration will bring together air and surface assets from fifteen nations, simulating modern air warfare challenges in realistic combat scenarios. The exercise is designed to test and enhance participants’ abilities in complex, multi-dimensional operations.
The IAF contingent’s participation underscores India’s growing emphasis on international defence collaboration and operational excellence. Exercise INIOCHOS-25 offers a valuable opportunity to train in planning and executing combined air operations while refining tactics in sophisticated air warfare scenarios. It will also enable us to gain insights into global best practices and strengthen interoperability with other air forces.

With all operations staged from Andravida Air Base, the exercise will provide a dynamic environment for mutual learning and enhanced coordination among the participating countries. The IAF’s involvement is expected to not only bolster its own operational capabilities but also contribute significantly to the collective expertise of the multinational force.
This marks another milestone in India’s expanding defence engagements on the global stage. The IAF’s deployment of advanced assets like the Su-30 MKI, supported by the versatile IL-78 and C-17 aircraft, highlights its readiness to operate seamlessly in joint missions with allied nations. The exercise will further solidify India’s strategic partnerships, particularly with Greece and other participating countries, reinforcing its role as a key player in global security cooperation.
As the IAF prepares to take to the skies over Greece, Exercise INIOCHOS-25 promises to be a critical step in enhancing synergy, interoperability, and trust among the world’s leading air forces, with India proudly at the forefront.
