JeM terrorist Hidayat-Ullah Malik was arrested on 6 February and during the interrogation revealed that he had conducted reconnaissance at Sardar Patel Bhawan and other high-value targets in New Delhi, based on instructions of his Pakistan based handler.
Malik was arrested in Anantnag district of Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) and arms and ammunition was found in his possession. He is the chief of JeM’s front group Lashkar-e-Mustafa.
Malik is said to have travelled from Srinagar to New Delhi on 24 May 2019 to record a video of NSA Doval’s office including the security detail of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) there. He had thereafter passed on the video to his Pakistan based handler, described by him as ‘Doctor’, over WhatsApp.
Malik is also said to have revealed that he had conducted reconnaissance of the Samba sector border area in the summers of 2019 along with accomplice Sameer Ahmad Dar who had been arrested on 21 January 2020 for his involvement in the 2019 Pulwama terror attack.
