ITBP Celebrates Its 59th Raising Day
The troops of the mountain warfare-trained border force on the Celebrated its 59th raising day Saturday.
The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), in developments that took place in the last few months, has broken the myth of some countries that they have a powerful army.
ITBP DG SS Deswal said that ITBP has got latest weaponry, V SAT system for robust communication at the border. A proposal of phase 2 for India-China Border roads has been sent to Ministry of Home Affairs.

The ITBP was raised in the aftermath of the 1962 Chinese aggression and it has a strength of about 90,000 personnel with 60 battalions on the ground.
The ITBP is the designated force to guard the 3,488-km-long Sino-India Line of Actual Control (LAC) that runs from Ladakh to Arunachal Pradesh in the northeastern flank of the country.
The ITBP has been given the approval by the Ministry of Home Affairs to establish 47 border posts, uniform special clothing and mountaineering equipment for high-altitude locations, latest weapons are being provided and work is on to prepare priority border roads for the force and ITBP has purchased 28 vehicles for border and naxal areas.
Since then ITBP was originally deployed for Indo-China border security. The highest point outpost of the force is located at 18, 800 feet and at many border posts the temperature goes down to minus 45 degrees.
The Centre had approved a budget of Rs 7,223 crore for the force for financial year 2019-20.
The song also depicts the special campaigns conducted by ITBP against the spread of covid 19 in the country.
It includes setting up the country’s first quarantine center at Chawwla where almost 1200 Indian including kids and 42 other nationals from 7 countries including China and Italy got the best medical facilities.

For the first time, the Indo-Tibet Border Police (ITBP) has sent female doctors to forward operating locations in Ladakh.From sending troops from Leh to taking care of them at the forward locations, the ITBP female doctors have given all kinds of charge.
On the last Independence Day, the ITBP recommended the names of 21 jawans for bravery in the border skirmishes in Ladakh, along with about 300 jawans going to the border by SS Deswal, DG ITBP and giving them the Director General Citation and Emblem Was awarded with signs.
The ITBP is the country’s leading paramilitary force. The soldiers of this force are known for their strong training and professional skills and are ready at all times to meet any situation and challenge.
It is his basic duty to serve the country by staying at the snow-covered forward posts in the lap of the Himalayas throughout the year, hence he is also known as ‘Himveer’.
ITBP Battalions are also providing security to various installations of national importance throughout the country, which includes Rashtrapati Bhawan, Vice President House, Rumtek Monastery (Sikkim), Tihar Jail (N Delhi), The Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (Uttarakhand) and various sensitive installations in Chandigarh (Punjab) & Jammu (J&K).
