NDA Passing Out Parade Held In Pune Today
After three years of exhausting training, The Passing Out Parade (POP) of the 142nd course of the National Defence Academy (NDA) took place in Pune, Maharashtra on Monday.

The event was held at the Khetrapal Ground, named after Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal.
The Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari reviewed the Passing-out Parade of the 142nd NDA Course at Khadakwasla, today. CAS complimented the Cadets for their immaculate turnout, precise drill movements and high standard of the parade and conveyed his best wishes to the passing out Course.
During his address, CAS spoke about the role of ‘new technology’ & ‘evolving doctrines’ in bringing about fundamental changes in the character of warfare. He underlined the crucial role of the passing out Cadets in ushering ‘multi-domain’ capabilities in the Armed Forces.
Amid the ceremonial engagements preceding the Passing-out Parade, #CAS visited Juliet Squadron at the prestigious Tri-Services Academy. He interacted with the Cadets of the Squadron-the ‘Jaguars’-and shared experiences of his training days with them.
A total of 907 cadets participated in the parade of which 317 cadets were from the passing out course. This included 212 Army cadets, 36 Naval cadets and 69 Air Force cadets including 19 cadets from Friendly Foreign Countries.
The parade which usually culminates with a final slow march also witnesses the presence of the trainers as well as the faculty members who share their pride moment on the passing out of the cadets.

Notably, two batches of cadets pass every year from the military academy based at Khadakwasla in Pune and further continue with another year of re-commissioning training at the academies of their respective forces.
A total of 234 cadets of the National Defence Academy (NDA) were conferred with degrees in Arts, Science and Computer Science streams of Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi at the convocation ceremony of the tri-services academy held on Sunday. Another group of 106 cadets received three-year course completion certificates.
Out of 234 passing out cadets, 41 got degrees in the Science stream, 106 cadets in Computer Science and 68 cadets in the Arts stream. Nineteen cadets from friendly foreign countries were also awarded degrees at the function. In addition, the BTech stream comprising 106 cadets of Navy and Air Force received a three-year course completion certificate as these Naval and Air Force cadets will be conferred with the degree after completion of one-year training at their respective pre-commissioning training academies — Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala and Air Force Academy, Hyderabad, respectively.
