Pakistani Intruder Shot Dead By BSF Along International Border In Punjab

A Pakistani intruder was shot dead by the BSF along the International Border in Punjab’s Amritsar district, an official said on Friday. The force personnel noticed suspicious activity near the border fence on Thursday evening, said the BSF official.

Sensing threat, troops shot intruder dead at around 8:30 pm, the official further said.

11 infiltration incidents have recorded this year till the first week of November from Jammu, Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan and Gujarat border.

This year, the highest 4-4 each infiltration incident happened from Jammu as well as Punjab borders.

The higher deployment of troops, reshaping of the anti-infiltration grid, and the use of technology have helped bring the number of successful infiltration attempts down in 2020. However, even though infiltration has decreased, security agencies remain concerned.

Pakistan backed terrorist groups and its Inter Services Intelligence have started using bigger china made drones to expand its capacity to smuggle arms and ammunition across the border in India’s Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir.

India is pushing hard to build its anti-drone capacities, the coming two winter months with fog along the border in Punjab and J&K will test the Indian security agencies hard as more drone drops are expected.

Terrorist infiltration from Pakistan has come down to a large extent in Jammu & Kashmir, though there is no let-up in attempts being made by the neighboring country to push terrorists and weapons into India.
