Shershaah Of Kargil: A Warrior Who Made Pakistan Cry

  • Yeh Dil Mange More…!.said Capt Vikram Batra, PVC (P) on return after a successful attack. His words fired up the imagination & Josh of an entire generation, infact the whole nation & today he gave the supreme sacrifice while re-capturing Point 4875 at Kargil on 07th July 1999.
  • Captain Vikram Batra would have been the General of the Indian Army staff, had he returned from the Kargil war fought between India and Pakistan in the year 1999.
  • On July 7, 1999, in the early hours, he was commanding a mission to rescue an injured officer during an enemy counter-attack.It is believed that during the rescue attempt, he pushed aside the injured officer saying, “You have children, step aside.”
  • He was awarded the Param Vir Chakra Posthumously.
  • Also Dharma Production making a bipoic on Captain Vikram Batra titled Shershaah.  The film stars Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani and tell the tale of his heroism and sacrifice.
