3 Terrorists Killed, 4 Security Personnel Injured In Srinagar Encounter
At least three terrorists were killed and four security personnel were injured in an encounter that broke out in Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar district, confirmed the J&K Police on Friday.
According to police reports, the encounter broke out on Thursday evening at the Pantha Chowk area in Srinagar.
The firefight between the terrorists and security forces started after a joint team cordoned off the area and launched a search operation on the basis of specific information about the presence of terrorists.

As the security forces zeroed in on the spot where terrorists were hiding, they came under a heavy volume of fire that triggered the encounter.
As per J&K Police, in the initial exchange of fire, 3 police personnel and 1 CRPF jawan got injured and were subsequently shifted to a nearby hospital.
The security forces retaliated and gunned down three terrorists. IGP Kashmir, Vijay Kumar confirmed that incriminating materials, including arms and ammunition, were recovered from the terrorists.
He also confirmed that one of the killed terrorists was identified as Suhail Ahmad Rather of terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM).
“As revealed during yesterday’s PC, terrorist Suhail was also involved in the Zewan terror attack. All terrorists involved in the Zewan attack have been neutralised,” added IGP Kashmir.
